Well over this weekend my other half said that I could dig up both front lawns and make them into garden. I'm well excited about that. More room for veggies and flowers!
Now to the planning and the thought of digging out non-stop couch grass, dandelions, buttercups etc etc. How I'm going to do that properly is anyone's guess!
I've considered both digging it out and weedkilling. The lazy side of me is saying zap the b@$terds but the other side of me is saying no that's bad for my little environment. Trouble with couch grass is it never seems to go away.
I would like to use small hedging and do a fancy job as its out the front for all to see. I thought of box or lonicera nitidia. If I were really clever I'd propagate my own but don't have a clue.
By the way on Friday I had another meeting this time with the HR lady and it looks like the more hours thing is going ahead and I shall now be working 5 days a week instead of 3. She asked me the stupid question "how much do you want?" in regards to the payrise, so I gave a stupid answer "£7.50 per hour". I'm currently on £6.50 an hour. She didn't think they would pay it. I said it was worth a try they can only knock it down and every little helps as they say on that well known supermarket advert! So now I have to wait til next week to see what happens next. The gardening assistant came in on Monday but I've not seen him since. Well.... it is raining afterall! I'm wondering will he be back though.
