Firstly lets get this out of the way first. My gardening assistant at work hasn't been very reliable over the last year as many of you will know. I can tell you that from October until just the last week or two he has barely been in work at all.
On Friday I was told that he had been sent a letter saying he had a disciplinary meeting the following week. I haven't held my breath because he has had a great many of these and nothing changes. Very frustrating, very annoying and I have felt utterly used by all.
He had the meeting with the HR lady on Wednesday of this week. Now he did seem to come out of the office in a bit of a storm, but thought that it was just me imagining things as he later said, glad its the end of the day and see me Monday. Well I thought nothing has change, nothing new there.
I came into work today wondering why I really bother at all, when the company allows this to go on and me to have to put up with it all. Felt pretty downhearted and not very motivated. At 10:20am this morning the HR lady was chasing me in her car trying to get my attention, and I wondered what was up, more excuses no doubt. As it turns out she told me she has given my assistant a months notice and his last day is on 16 March. I nearly fell over with shock!!!
As it turned out everyone including her had really gotten fed up with his pathetic and not very convincing excuses and it was finally time for him to go. Two questions, will he come in on Monday? Who knows with a muppet like him. Secondly, what happens next? I've asked the boss man if I can work on my own. He doesn't sound happy about it, but I'll try changing that next week in the meeting that we will be having.
Fingers crossed I don't have to work with anyone else who doesn't want to be there and I can get on with things my way.
